The states are finding it hard to keep their revenue model intact due to the lockdown. Earlier this month, Mahrashtra, the nation's most economically potent state, decided to slash its 2020-21 spending. Delhi has, reportedly, been able to collect just Rs 400 crore in tax revenues in the month of April. Karnataka is reported to have foregone taxes worth Rs 10,675 crore. Tamil Nadu has suffered a loss of 80%.
