Visa to acquire Plaid in a $5.3 billion deal

Visa has agreed to acquire privately held software startup Plaid in a $5.3 billion deal. It will boost Visa’s presence in the fin-tech space. Plaid’s tech enables people to link their bank accounts to mobile apps and 1 out of 4 people with a U.S bank account have been using this tech. Both Visa and Mastercard took part in that round where Visa finally got the deal to take a step forward to cashless economy.
