Uber destroying thousands of e-scooters and e-bikes, why?

Uber is destroying tens of thousand of its electric bikes and scooters, weeks after selling that division to Lime. Footage of that came out and many people started questioning. However, the ride-aggregator company said that they have decided to “recycle” the older model vehicles due to maintenance, safety, and other technical reasons. They also said that they will transfer new models of their electric bikes to Lime.
