Uber acquires grocery delivery start-up Cornershop

Uber has acquired a majority stake in a grocery delivery start-up Cornershop for a yet to be revealed sum. Although the growth of its core business has slowed down a bit, Uber is now trying to build its food and freight delivery businesses, along with expanding into bicycle and scooter rentals. Cornershop is active in Chile, Mexico, Peru and Canada, and Uber is looking to add other markets, including the United States.
