Amid the ongoing differences between India and China over the border issues, US Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette has offered India to explore manufacturing a cheaper alternative to silicon solar cells using United State's technology to reduce its dependence on China. Brouillette pitched the use of Perovskite solar cells to India, which is considered to be a potential cheap alternative to silicon cells.
