Arvind Subramanian - the former chief economic adviser to the Narendra Modi government said what the country is facing was not an ordinary slowdown. He called it India's great slowdown. Subramanian, who had earlier said that India's GDP growth between 2011 and 2016 had been overestimated by 2.5 percentage points, said GDP(Gross Domestic Product) data may not be an absolute indicator of an economy's prosperity.
