TATA Sons win bid for Air India, DIPAM Secretary announces

Air India will be returning home after 68 years as the Ministry of Finance’s Department of Investment and Public Asset Management secretary has announced that TATA Sons has won the financial bid for Air India. TATA Group won the bid after quoting a price of Rs. 18,000 crore. SpiceJet’s Ajay Singh was another bidden competing with TATA. The debt-laden air carrier has 127 aircraft. It has a debt of over Rs 60,000 crore.
