Sensex climbs to 53,161 points, Nifty settles above 15,800

On Monday, the Indian equity benchmarks extended their winning run for the third straight session. While the Sensex rose 0.82% to 53,161 points, the Nifty jumped 0.84% to 15,832.05 points. The midcap indices also showed bullish signals with the Nifty Midcap 50 rising by 1.04% to settle at 7,391 points.
