Sebi's introduction of 'accredited investors' in Indian market to open up new fund raising channels

The concept of 'accredited investors' in the Indian securities market has been introduced by markets regulator Sebi. The move is expected to open up a new channel for raising funds. Net worth or income will be the basis for identifying a person or entity as an accredited investor. According to the regulator, an accreditation certificate will be issued to investors by the subsidiaries of depositories and stock exchanges.
