Satya Nadella named new chairman of Microsoft Corp

Satya Nadella, the Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft Corp, has been named the chairman of the firm. Nadella will replace John Thompson. Mr. Thompson will now serve as the lead independent director. Nadella took over as CEO in 2014 from Steve Ballmer. He played a key role in scaling up its business. The changes in the leadership positions come over a year after Bill Gates stepped down from the board.
