Lee Jae-Yong, the heir of South Korea-based gadget manufacturing giant Samsung, has been jailed for two and a half years over corruption charges. 52-year-old Jae-Yong was found guilty of bribery and embezzlement. "Lee actively provided bribes and implicitly asked the president to use her power to help his smooth succession," said the South Korean Supreme Court. Lee was taken into custody immediately after the court's verdict.
