Richard Branson mortgaged his Caribbean island to save Virgin airlines

Billionaire and the founder of Virgin airlines Richard Branson has mortgaged his prized private Caribbean island to save the airlines during the Coronavirus crisis. Branson said that the island is more than just a luxury abode and it employs 175 people and he is mortgaging it to save as many jobs possible in the Virgin group. Branson bought the island in 1978, for $180,000. Its recent value is estimated at $100 million.
