Record jump in Sensex, Nifty near 12,000

The gains in Infosys, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, Larsen & Toubro, Sun Pharma and HDFC Bank have been positively reflected in the growth of S&P BSE Sensex and Nifty. The Sensex jumped over 441 points from day's lowest level to hit a new record high of 40,543 while the Nifty 50 index moved closer to the important psychological level of 12,000. Infosys was the top Sensex gainer with a rise of 3.15%.
