OYO climbs up another step by acquiring 80% stake in Japan’s MDI alongside Softbank

After spreading its roots all over India, Japan, Middle East, UK and US, hospitality firm OYO has added another feather in its cap by acquiring an 80% stake in Japanese rental apartment operator MDI, by joining hands with Softbank. It was an investment of $100 million in total. OYO will register 37,000 rooms under MDI management, on its own platform and will supplement the company's existing inventory of more than 2,000 rooms.
