Japan's Toshiba president resigns amid acquisition talks by former employer

Nobuaki Kurumatani, the president of Toshiba in Japan has resigned after the firm said that it has received an acquisition proposal from a global fund where Kurumatani was previously employed. The acquisition proposal was sent by CVC Capital Partners. Kurumatani headed the Japan operations of the firm until he took the charge of chief executive of Toshiba in 2018. He tendered his resignation at a board meeting.
