The country recorded its worst contraction in modern history amid the economic risk posed by the coronavirus pandemic. Japan has recorded negative growth in three consecutive quarters. Yoshiki Shinke, chief economist at Daiichi Life Research Institute has said the recession may deepen due to Covid19.
