The International Monetary Fund said on Monday that India must take steps quickly to reverse the slowdown of an economy. Ranil Salgado, of the IMF Asia and Pacific Department, said that India is now in the midst of a significant economic slowdown and it requires urgent policy actions to address the current downturn. The Reserve Bank of India slashed its annual growth forecast to 5 per cent from 6.1 per cent.
