India may withhold a ban on onion exports until February due to the increasing domestic prices because of untimely rains. The ban by India, the world's biggest exporter of onion, will see prices remain elevated in Asia and importers in Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will have to find other sources. The export ban was enacted in September but prices have surged after rain and floods during October and November.
