India accounted for 1.6% retail sales globally

According to the World Bank India is accounted for 1.6% of global online sales. Intra-regional trade in South Asia remains low and even in India, the scenario is similar. The survey shows that most of the cross-border e-commerce was conducted with extra-regional partners, such as the US, UK or China. Indian firms are heavily digitized and data piracy, legal liabilities are some of the top challenges that it faces.
