IMF found discrepancies in India’s GDP calculation method

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has raised doubts over India’s method to calculate GDP numbers. According to IMF certain changes and discrepancies in the calculation made it complex. Modi govt had faced criticism over the back series data in the year 2011-2012. In 2018 NSC’s report showed double-digit growth during UPA govt. However, Modi govt didn’t accept the NSC report and came up with its own calculation methods.
