A plan for investing billions of euros of emergency aid into Europe's devastated economies has been agreed by EU heads. After a video meeting, it’s been planned to prepare a recovery fund, closely tied to the 7-year budget. €540bn of financial support will be released via existing mechanisms from June 1. European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen has further assured the fund would have €1 trillion of investment.
