Gurugram-based Ecom Express has closed a $36 million round of financing from the British development financial institution CDC. The parties did not disclose the valuation at which the latest investment was made. The British DFI has already committed capital of about $1.7 bn in India. Ecom Express will ramp up its overall employee base to 47,000 over the next 12-24 months from its current 32,000, using the latest equity financing.
