Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the government is reviewing the health of public sector banks and has asked them to lend more. The finance minister said that the public sector banks will hold “shamiana meetings” with non-banking financial companies and retail borrowers between now and September 29. Earlier, Sitharam responded to social media criticism by a corporate leader on her work as a finance minister.
