Government knocks Supreme Court's door against Bharti Airtel’s Rs 9.23 billion GST refund

The Central government has approached the Supreme Court against the Delhi High Court order, that allowed Bharti Airtel Ltd to claim Rs 9.23 billion in tax refunds by rectifying its goods and services tax (GST) returns filed earlier. The telecom company was allowed to claim the GST refunds, by a two-judge bench of the Delhi High Court. As per the authorities, Airtel under-reported input tax credit from July to September 2017.
