Government green signals $100 billion mobile export plans under PLI scheme to boost Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan

In a major boost for the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan launched by PM Modi, the government has green signaled $100 billion (around Rs 7.3 lakh crore) mobile export proposals. The proposals were made by Apple’s largest iPhone assembler Foxconn, Pegatron and Wistron as well as Samsung, Karbonn, Lava and Dixon. The firms are expected to manufacture mobile devices and components of over Rs 11 lakh crore in the next five years.
