GDP growth to remain in negative in 2020-21, Indian might enter recession: RBI Governor

Highlighting the risks that coronavirus crisis poses to the Indian economy, Reserve Bank of India governor Shaktikanta Das said the GDP growth for the fiscal year 2020-21 will remain in negative while some recovery can be witnessed in the later half. Das said India could enter recession if demand is not increased. Food inflation which had eased from January 2020 peak in February and March has now surged to 8.6 percent in April.
