Elon Musk cites high import duties as the reason behind delay in launch of Tesla cars in India

Tesla founder Elon Musk said on Twitter that he wants to launch Tesla cars in India but the import duties on electric vehicles in India, which are the "highest in the world by far" are stopping the firm from doing so. Musk said this while responding to a tweet by an Indian user who requested Musk to launch Tesla cars in the country. Musk further wrote: "We are hopeful that there will be at least a temporary tariff relief."
