The International Monetary Fund has slashed its 2021 growth forecast for China to 7.9 percent. This is 0.3 percent lower than the earlier prediction of the IMF. This comes after a year of economic crises posed by Covid. "The Chinese economy continues its fast recovery from the pandemic, helped by a strong containment effort and swift policy actions to mitigate the impact of the crisis," the IMF said in its report.
