Finance Minister Nirmala Sithraman in Budget 2020 proposed a computer-based online common eligibility test for recruitment for non-gazetted government posts. She said ₹99,300 crore has been allocated for the education sector and ₹3,000 crore for skill development. "Degrees can be taken online soon and will be offered by the Top 100 NIRF ranked institutes," she added highlighting the necessity of centralized systems.
