Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented a 16-point action plan to boost agriculture and farmers welfare. She said the government aims to double the income of farmers by 2022. She further added that the government will provide funds for setting up standalone solar pumps to over 20 lakh farmers who own barren lands, to help them in generating income. The FM proposed comprehensive measures for 100 water-stressed districts.
