Bangladesh reopens hundreds of apparel factories despite virus risk

Almost a month after Bangladesh closed garment factories to prevent the spread of the virus, the industry is has now reopened near about 600 of them adhering to ‘so called’ health protocol despite risks of virus spread. Rubana Huq, president of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association, claims she was under pressure to reopen factories after the industry lost more than $3 billion in orders.
