Axis Bank set to get Rs 5,000 crore in a major trade deal with US-based PE Firm Carlyle

Axis Bank and US-based global investment firm Carlyle Group are about to reach an agreement for a major trade deal. The US-based private equity firm will pump in Rs 5,000 crore into the bank if the deal is finalized. The fourth-biggest lender of India raised Rs 10,000 crore through qualified institutional placement (QIP) of shares earlier this month. Axis Bank has raised Rs 22,500 crore of equity in the last 12 months.
