‘The Taste of India' has been recognised in Canada. The Canadian Intellectual Property Appellate Board has granted Amul, India's domestic dairy behemoth, trademark protection. After winning a trademark violation lawsuit brought in the Federal Court of Canada, the country's biggest co-operative will also be granted damages in the amount of Canadian dollar (CAD) 32,733. It's the first time Amul has taken legal action against a foreign firm.
