Pharmacy chain Generico raises $1.39 million from Alteria Capital

Pharmacy retail chain Generico that sells low-cost medicines has recently raised $1.39 million from Alteria Capital in venture debt funding. Initially, Generico started operating on a company-owned, company-operated model and then it moved toward a master franchise model. Generico owns the brand while the franchise owns the real estate and the front-end operations. It plans to have 150 outlets in Mumbai by 2021.
