Air traffic growth drops a 5-year low at 11.6%; cargo at 6%

The growth in air traffic hit a 5-year low in FY2019. The passenger traffic movement at the 4 major airports reported a sharp decline in March as travel demand in Delhi & Mumbai airports de-grew 9.4% & 16.2% respectively. Cargo traffic growth moderated in the year to 6% as against double digits over the past 2 years. Domestic passenger traffic declined by 1.1% in March & overall traffic saw a de-growth of 0.1% in the month.
