Volkswagen slapped with Rs 171.34 cr fine for causing pollution

The expert committee's report has calculated that the automobile maker, Volkswagen's cars released almost around 48.678 tonnes of NOx in 2016 in the national capital. It is an issue of concern as air pollution has increased highly in Delhi and keeping that in mind a 4-member committee that the National Green Tribunal formed has recommended Rs 171.34 crore of fine. The fine is for health damages caused by its cars.
