New Motor Vehicle Act: Pay Rs 10,000 fine if you don't give way to ambulance

The cabinet has passed motor vehicles bill with new amendments that imply a hefty fine on traffic defaulters. One of the main changes to the act is that now onwards if someone doesn't give way to ambulance then will end up paying a fine of Rs 10,000. Driving licence may be suspended in offences such as drunken driving, dangerous driving, over-speeding. Those who violate driving licences may be fined further up to Rs 1 lakh.
