Michelin has collaborated with General Motors to develop a new generation of puncture-proof, eco-friendly airless wheel technology for passenger vehicles. The tyres are known as the 'Unique Puncture-proof Tire System,' or Uptis for short. They have been re-engineered for today's passenger cars and are constructed of composite rubber and resin-embedded fibreglass. They plan to launch Uptis in passenger vehicles by 2024.
