Fiat Chrysler and Peugeot owners PSA have joined hands for a binding agreement of a reported $50 billion merger to reshape global car industry. Europe’s second and third biggest automakers announced initial plans last month for a 50-50 all-share tie-up to become world’s fourth-largest automaker. The merger will now work on how to achieve a target of cutting costs by $4.1 billion per year without closing factories.
