Total 16.73 lakh Hybrid and EVs in the country, Maharashtra tops list with 2.96 lakh

Of 16,73,115 hybrid or electric vehicles in use in the country, Maharashtra tops the list with a total 2,96,186 vehicles followed by Karnataka and Tamil Nadu with 2,03,592 and 1,69,006 respectively. Presently, Phase-II of FAME India Scheme is being implemented for a period of 5 years from April, 2019 with a total budgetary support of Rs 10,000 crore.
