The construction of Tesla's Gigafactory near Berlin has led to the removal of approximately 500,000 trees. This is as per a satellite-based analysis done by Kayrros, an environmental intelligence company. The firm's data shows that between March 2020 and May 2023, a total area of 813 acres was cleared at the site, equivalent to felling nearly half a million trees. The project has been met with significant controversy and protests from climate activists due to its environmental impact.
