Alia Advani was born on 31st July 1992 in Mumbai city, Maharashtra. She is now professionally known as Kiara Advani. She is an Indian actress and model who works primarily and essentially in Hindi films. Following her debut in Fugly (2014), she portrayed Sakshi Rawat, a hotel manager, and M. S. Dhoni's wife in the movie M. S. Dhoni: The Untold Story. Her appearance in The Netflix Anthology film Lust Stories (2018) received critical acclaim. It marked a watershed moment in her career. She appears in films such as the Telugu political thriller Bharat Ane Nenu, the Hindi romance Kabir Singh (2019), and the Hindi comedy Good Newz.

Early life 

Advani was born to the Sindhi community to Hindu capitalist and businessmen Jagdeep Advani and Genevieve Jaffrey, a teacher whose father was a Muslim from Lucknow and whose mother was a Christian of Scottish, Irish, Portuguese, and Spanish descent, with a Bengali grandmother. She was born Alia Advani but changed her first name to Kiara before her first film, Fugly, was released in 2014. She has confirmed Salman Khan's idea to change her name from Alia to Kiara because Alia Bhatt was her contemporary. In a 2019 interview with Filmfare, she revealed that the name was inspired by Priyanka Chopra's character Kiara in the film Anjaana Anjaani.

Career 

Advani made her first entrance in Bollywood debut in 2014 with Kabir Sadanand's comedy Fugly, which also starred and cast Mohit Marwah, Arfi Lamba, Vijender Singh, and Jimmy Sheirgill. "Kiara Advani catches you totally unaware," said Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama and has the "combination of looks and talent. Deccan Chronicle's Mehul S Thakkar praised her performance as "very striking" and said she "shows a lot of potentials." It underperformed at the box office.

In Neeraj Pandey's sports biopic M. S. Dhoni: The Untold Story in 2016, Advani appeared in an official biopic of famous cricketer M. S. Dhoni. While Sushant Singh Rajput was cast in the role of Dhoni, she played his wife Sakshi Rawat, a hotel manager. It was one of the year's highest-grossing films, grossing 216 crores worldwide. In the Abbas–Mustan directed action thriller Machine, she played the love interest of newcomer Mustafa Burmawalla. It was a flop at that time.

Advani then made her OTT premiere with the Netflix 2018 anthology film Lust Stories, which dealt with female sexuality and was divided into four parts. In Karan Johar's segment, she portrayed a newlywed wife whose husband (Vicky Kaushal) fails to recognize her sexual frustration. Raja Sen, who wrote for NDTV, thought she was "positively lovely" in it. By making her debut in Telugu cinema, she signed the Mahesh Babu-starer Bharat Ane Nenu, a political action from Koratala Siva about a student who suddenly becomes Andhra Pradesh's chief minister. 

According to Janani K of India Today, she "shines in her brief role," but her character is "more of an eye-candy who doesn't add any purpose to the plot." The film grossed 225 crores worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing films in Telugu cinema history. In September 2018, a music video for "Urvashi," sung by Yo Yo Honey Singh and starring her and Shahid Kapoor, was released. She gained wide popularity as a Preeti dramatic character in Sandeep Vanga's movie named Kabir Singh. She appeared in front of Shahid Kapoor in Kabir Singh and gained wide popularity and name/fame in Bollywood. Her final role in the year 2019 was in Raj Mehta's comedy film Good Newwz, about two couples who experimented with artificial insemination. She acted in front of Akshay Kumar. Both Kabir Singh and Good Newswz are among the top-grossing Hindi films of 2019.
