Volkswagen will pay $87.3 million to settle lawsuits filed by thousands of Australian customers who were a victim of its global diesel emissions cheating scandal. The German automaker will be paying each of the owners of affected Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda EA189 diesel vehicles. The settlement follows the revelations in 2015 that Volkswagen was tricking with illegal engine-control software to cheat pollution tests.
