The hard landing of Chandrayaan 2 : Help to the orbiter to study the lunar surface
The hard landing of Vikram lander on September 7, 2019, has created a small crater on the lunar surface, which would help the powerful payload of the orbiter to study the subsurface. This is enough for Chandrayaan-2’s powerful Imaging Infra-Red Spectrometer (IIRS) to research the ‘dugout’ subsurface material. Though Vikram did not work as expected but will always be a 'martyr' to the space research.
