The Aarey activists have received a major blow as the Bombay High Court has rejected all the petitions against the felling of over 2500 trees for the construction of the metro car shed. On September 20, the Maharashtra government had told the court that Aarey cannot be declared a forest just because of its greenery. “We strongly believe that Aarey cannot be replaced... we will go against this," a ShivSena leader said.
