For the second consecutive time Reserve Bank of India has maintained status quo on interest rates. During its bi-monthly monetary policies held in June and August 2018, RBI raised the repo rate twice by 25 basis points (bps) which was the last increase to 6.50%. Due to softening inflation and GDP growth, it was expected by an analyst that RBI will keep its repo rate steady at 6.5%.
