The National Film Archive of India has found 30 reels of unedited rare footage of Mahatma Gandhi which is almost six hours of duration. The visuals are mainly of a special train carrying Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes from Madras to Rameshwaram. These 35mm celluloid footages, unedited and stock shots along with title cards in between, belong to many prominent film studios of that time. However, the footage has no sound.
