On Saturday, the 31st GST Council met was held after PM Modi promised to make GST easy. The meeting was held in the presence of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. The meeting resulted in the lowering of rates from 28% to 18% of Monitors and TV of up to 32 inches, digital and video cameras, power banks of lithium-ion batteries, video game consoles. GST on parts and accessories for carriages for disabled reduced to 5% from 28%.
