India has 20 Judges for every 10 Lakh People

The Law Ministry said that there are 20 judges available now for every 10 lakh people in the country, as compared to 17 in the year 2014. The judge-population ratio was found to be 19.78 judges per million population as compared to 17.48 in 2014. This calculation was based on the population census in 2011 and sanctioned strength of judges in Supreme court, the 24 high courts, and the lower judiciary in 2018.
