After Allahabad, Shimla too can get new name

A few days back Allahabad got its new name when CM Yogi Adityanath announced that the historical city will now be known as Prayagraj. And now Himachal Pradesh government is thinking to change the name of its state capital Shimla to Shyamala. The demand was made by right-wing Hindu groups to remove “symbols of British rule”. Shimala was known as Shyamala before the Britishers came, said CM Jai Ram Thakur.
